Tuesday Throwback Tune
The popular rock duo Simon & Garfunkel played in many locations over the years. One of their first guest appearances in the 1960s was on a Canadian television series called Let’s Sing Out. The show demonstrated audience engagement when college students across Canada joined guest music stars performing popular and popular pop songs.
On February 17, 1966, the duo played “Sound of Silence,” and Simon took a minute to explain the song…in 1966…54 years ago…
Listen to his explanation; listen to the song again…really listen…and recognize how contemporary…almost amazingly so…the song remains.
